Two New Cruelty Free Drugstore Discoveries

Switching to cruelty free has come at a cost, with most of you also chipping in to voice that a good chunk of animal friendly products are from the higher end of the scale and finding brands that do not test on animals on a more affordable level is quite the task. There have however, been a few labels I've been waiting to get my hands on, again a load of you urging me to give them a go, and whilst they might not be all new to the shelves of the drugstore, they're certainly all new to me. The brands in question are Makeup Revolution, and Essence both offering an incredible range of products, quality and colour at purse-friendly prices - you're going to want to listen up for this one...

LUSH & The Body Shop Haul

There are two stores that take my number one spot when it comes to places to having a bath and body shop - both LUSH and TBS have been favourites for years but I now have even more of an excuse to hand over my pennies and that's for their cruelty free status's and a great selection of products, some even vegan friendly. It's not often I get the chance to browse the shelves of LUSH and since their line has become more of a treat than everyday needs, I only have a few things, but with The Body Shop being slightly more affordable, my shopping bag from there worked out to be a little more weighty, those and a few products that I received around Christmas time thrown in too. FYI, the photo above definitely doesn't capture all of my haul so grab a cuppa for this is a long'un and have a virtual delve deep into my shopping bags...

My January Makeup Edit

Whilst we may be half-way through February, I felt it was never to late to post my Monthly Makeup Edit for January's edition, after all, this one is a tutorial you've been asking for ever since I posted my 2015 Beauty Favourites video. Something I did must have been a little different from the usual makeup wise, but it involves an eye that's subtle and smoky, skin that's fresh and glowy and a layered peach lip - I'm putting the something different down to the fact that I ran a smudge of brown along my lower lash line which I usually keep to the bare minimum, yet it adds a bit of depth to the overall natural look. As always, you can expect to see my favourite brands chip in for this one, Urban Decay, Charlotte Tilbury and Hourglass to name but a cruelty free few...

Sanctuary Spa Rediscovered

Discovering new brands and rediscovering old has been one of the best parts of switching to cruelty free - sometimes you've just got to be reminded of what you're missing. One line I've recently come back across is not only affordable but is also easily accessible - it gets better - the Sanctuary Spa offers both bath and body, skincare and home fragrance, this one's a good all rounder, a brand I first dipped into back in my school days and I haven't really gone there since - to me it was a luxurious line found on the drugstore shelves, and that it still is but minus a hefty price tag. I've been road-testing some of my old faves to see whats changed as well as delving into a few new bits that have been on my list and the results for all are in...

January Favourites

The time has come for my first beauty round-up of the year; a bunch of product loves from the past month that got me through what might just be the dullest of the year - between you and me, I'm quite glad January is well-rid (what a bore). To brighten up the gloomy mood, I've been sweeping on a new blush-come-bronzer discovery which, may I add, has the cutest shade name, as well as a product-add on which imparts a lovely glow to the skin with a hint of tint. In terms of dehydration, I've hit that one the head whilst coming across a new facial oil to replace an old non-CF one from no other than my all-time favourite brand - why didn't I look here before? It's quite lovely and makes your face smell like a spa - I'm okay with that. Expect to see many other wonderful, and a few weird discoveries amongst the rest - the last one's worth waiting for, it's a real good'un...

And the QVC 'Find a Beauty Brand' Winners are...

Rewind back to a post I put out last summer introducing the QVC 'Find a Beauty Brand' contest and a little bit around it - in a nutshell, undiscovered UK beauty brands can enter to be in with the chance of have their range made available both online and on the live channel, skipping the queues to join the beauty line-up along the way. For the second year running, competition was high with an incredible bunch of beauty brands making their entries - two came out tops and both have since landed their place at QVC, their products being sold alongside labels any beauty lovers will be all too familiar with such as Liz Earle, Tarte, Perricone MD and Bare Minerals to name but a fancy few...

TBS Drops of Youth New Additions

In true TBS style, a new range comes and goes (down an absolute treat) be it skin, hair or body care, it's been that way ever since my discovery days of this brand - their Drops of Youth skincare range a true example of this. A few years back, it was released as part of the Nutriganics line and since it was much loved by many, they've recently welcomed two new additions to complete the 6-step product regime, have revamped a previous number and the packaging too has had a received an overhaul. Now, I can't say I tried anything from the lot the first time around, but this second special re-launch had me thinking this really has got to be something good...

Brand New Beauty Launches

A whole lot has happened on the new-just-in side of the beauty world as of late, hence another one of these round-ups to swiftly follow after the last. I've had a hunt about and rounded-up a bunch of some of the best brand-spanking new beauty releases and what's more, all of the above are cruelty free and so should lend a helping hand if you're making the transition to re-stocking your stash, or to simply introduce you to some new skin, hair tools and makeup products - from left to right, top, middle and bottom we have...

Cohorted January Edition

What better way to keep the excitement of Christmas going post-December 25th than a present posted through your door each and every month with not a clue as to what's hidden inside? One thing that has made my January a little more cheery amongst the festive comedown is my Cohorted Beauty Box - I've got to the point where I'm peeking through the curtains at the postman's arrival come delivery day - and as always it's been a good'un, some real treats tucked inside that make this monthly gift-to-self totally justifiable...
