It's back! Charlotte Tilbury's Instant Look in a Palette

Rarely will a limited edition Charlotte Tilbury launch slip through my fingers but this was one that I just couldn't grasp before it was long gone. The Instant Look in a Palette launched early this year but sold out before I was able to get my paws on one (it's currently out of stock, but you can browse through the full range of available products from Charlotte Tilbury here in the meantime). Months on and due to its speedy sell-out, it's safe to say it was a good day when an email landed in my inbox notifying me its back in stock and this time it's here to stay complete with a travel-friendly Legendary Lashes mascara in tow...

Designed to almost be a 'full face in a palette', the 7 glow-giving powders included have you covered for all occasions, from travels to day-to-night touch-ups, suit all skin tones and are enriched with radiance-enhancing, colour-correcting ingredients for an all-natural, effortless look. Housed in a slim-line compact, the contents include three eye shades, an all-over bronze, two cheek hues and a highlight. I've been dipping straight into the shadow straight after applying my base and brows, and washing the first shade, Eye Brighten, an awakening, shimmering pale rose all over the lid. It works great as a base to build upon and helps shadow applied on top last long time but its shade adds a whole lot of light, I dust it right into the inner corners and along the brow bone for an all-round eye brighten. I then follow with Eye Enhance, a natural, glowing champagne shade, all over the lid to illuminate and add dimension, then lastly I buff Eye Smoke, a brown-taupe and universally flattering, through the crease and smudged along my upper lash line for a smoky eye that's my kind of natural.

Onto the cheeks, where I would next go in with Face Bronze, the same shade as CT's best-selling Filmstar Bronze & Glow formula - swept through the cheekbone hollows, along the jawline and down the sides of the nose, it defines whilst delivering an-all over sun-kissed  glow. I take a fluffier brush for Cheek Swish, a healthy rose hue which goes all over the cheek followed by Cheek Pop, a pretty coral pink which gets dabbed directly on the apples. Last up and to life the face in all the right places is Face Highlight, a shimmering candlelit shade which brightens the tops of the cheekbones, cupids bow and down the nose, all in all, topping off the candlelight look which comes together using all seven shades. Much like everything else I've tried from Charlotte in terms of powder shadows and cheek shades, the formulas are silky soft, glide beautifully on to the skin and pack a whole lot of pigment.

Available exclusively to John Lewis, this gift set also comes with the must-have mini Legendary Lashes mascara, a clutch-bag, party-essential which just so happens to be a fave of Kim K. It may only be a little tube but it brings a whole lot of lash power and serves up more of a clumpy 'spidery' lash look than Full Fat Lashes, my all-time fave mascara from the regular line. Whilst the palette gets a double thumbs-up from me, this little tube of lashes hasn't quite won me over, it's a little too clumpy, doesn't last as long as I'd like it too and I find it can either get a bit flaky or leave me looking like a panda - I think I'll be sticking to what I'm used to around these parts.

You can find Charlotte Tilbury's Instant Look in a Palette at John Lewis for £49.00 - and although it's back for good this time around, be sure to grab this one with both hands before it does another disappearing act...
