Topshop Festive Party Makeup Look

If you asked me to sum up the festive season at one of my all time favourite stores, I'd tell you sequins, heels and a whole lot of sparkle, but ever since Topshop dropped their makeup line, it's all about the long lasting lashes, shadow sticks, red lips around Christmas time. I've been trying out said pieces from this years' launch paired with some already-there staples from my makeup collection to put together a look that's festive party ready - you know me and that I'm not one to really get glammed up to the nines, but if there is one time where I'm going to go all out with a full face, the time is now...

Eyes were made up in four simple steps using one of two of their Christmas sets, the Smoke Stick Kit; an edit featuring three neutral Smoke Stick crayons and a Magic Liner in black. I kicked things off by brightening up the inner corners and went in with Conspire, a shimmery gold-champagne which lightens up a heavy eye just nicely and then followed with a more true gold, Deviant, washed all over the lid. Finishing things off with a little more depth, I swept Dark Horse, a deep-dark bronze, through the crease and outer corner - smooth, dreamy creamy and a breeze to blend, these shadow sticks are completely foolproof to work with and last longtime on the lids without any creasing. I topped things off with a winged flick using the Magic Liner; a fine felt-tipped nib that uses incredibly pigmented ink, and lashings of the Party Proof Mascara which adds a whole lot of length, volume and separation.

For the face, I opted for touch-ups using The Concealer Palette and its 3 shade options. I tend to dab a little of the yellow-toned cream on my dark under-eyes to neutral-out the blue-green tones I've got going on, then follow with the lightest hue, set things in place with the pressed powder and use the shade darker to cover over any blemishes. I bronzed up with their Glow Stick in Heat; a summer release that's a twist-up stick of creamy colour, imparting a healthy sunkissed warmth wherever you wish to swipe it on. I further added to my winter radiance with their Glow Highlighter in 'Polish' - dabbed onto the high points, it captures the light to give off a natural sheen to the skin, and then to pull it all together I opted for their Lip Bullet in 'Joyride', a bright red creme which comes as a limited edition mini version housed in a pyramid tree trinket.

I can't say I've been invited to any Christmas parties this year #SelfEmploymentProblems,  but it's a look I'd conjure up for a in the lead up to festive season, a Christmas Eve outing, or on Christmas Day itself - even if I am still in my pyjamas from the neck down...
