#ThrowbackThursday circa 2011 when beauty boxes took over as the next biggest craze; a selection of samples both luxury and little that felt like Christmas had come early each and every month - you know the drill - and whilst they never really went anywhere, my subscriptions slowly fizzled out and my once-monthly gift-to-self stopped dropping in on my doorstep. I'd seen reviews for another beauty box on the block, Love Me Beauty, floating about here and there, and true say, I couldn't wait to get my hands on my very first delivery which only brought back all the nostalgic feels when it landed through my letterbox...
Love Me Beauty is a concept with a little bit of a difference - it all starts off with members creating their profile for the in-house beauticians to then go by for personalised recommendations. Each month, each subscription is worth 6 credits which can be used towards your next box by making your own product selection from The Boutique, each product being worth 1 or 2 credits, alternatively, you can stick to the LMB recommendations, plus you can opt for product extras to be thrown in at an exclusive price. Members can also reap exclusive access to luxury and emerging brands for a whole lot cheaper than what you'd find elsewhere, including the likes of Ciate and Too Faced, to Malin + Goetz and NUDE Skincare - let's just say there should be a little something for every product lover. That said, here's the array of beautifiers both little and large which made it to my Love Me Beauty box last month...
Neal Wolf Super Shine Spray - Past experiences with sprays of this sort have left me with nothing but greased-up looking roots and so I've kept my distance since, but after putting this mist to the test, I can confirm the results were far from crunchy, oily or crispy and my locks had a much glossier look about them.
Bellapierre eyeshadow in 'Whesek' - Here's a brand I've see crop up regularly on my search for cruelty free beauty finds, all natural and mineral based, though silvery, shimmery and gunmetal grey in shade, I'm not sure it's a shadow I can pull of well without representing a panda, but I'll reserve it in my eye drawer nevertheless for days when I feel a little more brave.
Mirabella Eye Definer in 'Bronze' - This on the other hand is a colour right up my street, bronze, shimmery and just all kinds of beautiful, it swipes on nicely with a dreamy, creamy, pigmented formula which hangs around for a decent amount of time.
Shien Lipstick in 'Shanghai Rose' - Another new brand to me, but an all-lip focused one at that with two formulas making up their line. I received a Silk Matte in an all-too-similar peachy brown nude to my fave Charlotte Tilbury 'Penelope Pink', so I feel I'll be getting a fair bit of wear from this hue.
Carmex - Whilst my go-to lip care of choice isn't around these parts, Carmex's range of treatments completely turn dry, chapped, flaky lips right around - and hey, I'm all for anything strawberry flavoured (and not just when it comes to my morning smoothies).
Pop-a-Ball Peach Bubbles - I'm not one for sugary squash-type drinks, so my boyfriend downed this before I could snap a picture - think bubble tea with these, mini balls of juice that can be thrown into anything from water to champagne - slurp them up, they burst in your mouth and the flavour comes alive, it also just adds a little somethin' somethin' fancy to your beverage.
Fancy a once-a-month treat for yourself to see what you could open up next time round? I've got a cushty 20% discount off your first package with the code 'JB20', making the £10 per box deal (+ £3.95 P&P) even more of a steal - so hands up, who's joining me on this one?!
