The Makeup That Does More

Attempting to downsize my makeup stash is a task I've since come to realise is easier said than done - let's just say I'm not the best at parting ways. Nevertheless, makeup that offers so much more than what you'd expect a quick glance at the packaging would suggest is definitely going to help the situation since so many products are rolled into one; I'm talking bases that bring all the skincare benefits, eye primers that double-up as dark circle concealers and lip colour that nourishes nicely meaning no need for an extra balmy something...

The base that delivers a whole lot more is L'Oreal's Anti-Fatigue Perk Up Cream - it's one of those Origins Vitazing-esque products in that it dispenses grey in colour, but the hint of tint kicks in upon blending. Not only does it wash the complexion a healthy radiance to unify the skin tone, it too brings a 24 hour moisture boost, protects with SPF 20 and fights signs of fatigue to instantly, well, perk things up a notch really. Setting my base in place, minus the look of cake-face, is the duty of Bourjois' Healthy Balance Powder, but as well as minimising shine, the fruit therapy formula brightens, hydrates and takes care of the skin.

When it comes to lids, Clarins' Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base steps in to prep and prime prior to shadow rolling into play, but something about it awakens the entire eye area for a wider, brighter look. Flesh-toned and easily blend-able, it leaves behind a seamless finish and so much so, that I'll often apply it on my under-eyes as to further hide my circles and for a little something for my concealer to grip onto. The little nick in the nib of Benefit's They're Real Push Up Liner means the added bonus here - and clue's in the name - is that it hugs nice and tight against lashes for a pushed-up, thicker, fuller look whilst gliding on a jet-black  line so smudge-proof it won't budge all day long. Not only is 'Bashful' my current fave shade from Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Crayon line being all pretty and pink, it nourishes my lips like most other balms do not, results in long-time shine and tastes amazing - think vanilla cake goodness.

Five products that pack a bit more of a punch to their products than what the usual might not. Impressive stuff - if we can keep at it like this, my entire collection might just be able to squeeze itself into a total of six MUJI drawers one day. Here's hoping...
