If you want to chat bases, I'm all about the lighter offerings - and although it might then mean that a little help from my concealer is needed in all the right places, I'm okay with that because a second-skin base is the best kind of base. I've already walked you through my foundation wardrobe, but now we're talking the lighter than light options; the BB's, the CC's and the tinted moisturiser creams and since spring has officially sprung, that's all you're going to see me applying - I think now is a better time than ever to give you a tour of this drawers' contents...
Origins Vitazing. Sitting comfy in the 'tinted moisturiser' category, Vitazing was where my lighter base love begun. Grey in shade, its hint of tint kicks in upon blending to give the skin an energy-boosted appearance with a barely-there coverage and an SPF of 15.
Diorskin Nude BB Creme. I'll forever deem this the BB Creme enabled by Lisa Eldridge; mentioned merely once and it flew off the shelves into the hands of many (myself included). I've got a thing for tubes with a pump dispenser, but packaging aside, its formula is light, glow-giving and transforms your complexion into a whole other level of flawless.
Garnier Skin Miracle. Think the budget, drugstore version of the Vitazing above; adapting to skins of all tones, it buffs out and the sun-kissed tint kicks in to correct signs of ageing, firm and even out texture, delivering hydration and an overall flawless finish.
This Works Perfect Look Skin Miracle. Pumping out a scary shade of caramel, the instant, skin perfecting formula boosts moisture with a hefty hylauronic acid dose and reduces imperfections and inflammation with the help of vitamins C and E for a look that's literally all kinds of perfect.
Bourjois CC Cream. The best to come from the drugstore if you're asking me, but one for the dewier-base lovers as it really does impart a dose of radiance. In terms of coverage, it imparts a little more than your average colour correcting cream, though finishing uber natural which I'm partly putting down to a seriously hydrating formula that leaves things just looking fresh.
Clinique City Block Sheer. City life lovers, this one's for you. Lightweight in formula, it keeps perspiration under control and protects against pollution, smut, smog and all of that bad environmental stuff. There's no coverage to it as such, but it veils the complexion in a peachy hint of tint with a glow that hangs around day-long.
Estee Lauder Clear Difference BB Cream. Reserved for not-so-happy skin days, this complexion perfector not only conceals blemishes using a natural, light formula but treats them at the same time - plus with an SPF of 35, it's a great base for the warmer months.
Erborian BB Creme. Using a concentrated herb combo for anti-aging properties, this number is an Asian favourite. Velvety in texture, though light in formulation, it unifies the complexion with concealing, hydrating and nourishing duties.
L'Oreal Skin Perfection Perk-Up Cream. With a similar formula and finish to Garnier's and Origins' offerings, it's another to develop upon skin contact to reveal an all-round anti-fatigued, perked-up appearance.
