A Bourjois Base Haul

Shopping whilst on my short trip to the UK didn't really go down as such - #handluggageonlyproblems - I did however, stay faithful to my favourite drugstore and took advantage of the 3-for-2 offer that was on to try out a few things new from my most-loved brand. Now these three aren't all that new to the line as such, but they are to me and have been sat at the top of my wish list for a good while, and seeing as it's one brand well-out of my reach where I'm at, it felt like now was a better time than ever...

I don't remember a time where a bottle of Bourjois' Healthy Mix Foundation hasn't been permanent in my stash and since all I had were the remainders of the original one when I was back in England a few weeks ago, it prompted me to pick up some of the re-packaged, re-fomulated stuff. Now housed in glass with a red top pump, it is of course prone to breakages for clumsies like yours truly and it's not so travel-friendly, however, the change in formula means that 8 new yellowy-toned shades are available and comes with the next level of dewiness, hence why they've snuck 'Radiance Reveal' into the title. There's still the original fruit extract properties for a dose of hydration and skincare, a 16 hour wear promise which I always felt it lived up to the first time around and this time I went a shade darker with 52 Vanilla to hopefully have me covered since weather wise, things are hotting up.

My thoughts were if the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Eye Cream is going to be anything like the face version, then I'm all over it. You know how much I love that tube of glow-giving goodness and after a few applications of this, I can deem it just as good. Lightweight in texture, it blends in seamlessly but with a decent amount of coverage that's enough to hide up my dark circles. I opted for the shade 21 Ivory as the lightest option, more so for brightening duties but also because I figured it'd suit my skin tone best. It comes in a twist-up pen form with a rubber tip that dispenses the concealer through the centre - quick, easy and fuss free.

To set the aforementioned in place, I also threw the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder, again in the shade 52 Vanilla, in my basket. It features similar fruit therapy to the above foundation and vows a matte finish yet with a healthy radiance about it still. Again, it's all very new to me but several sweepings so far have suggested it minimises shine rather nicely without any cakiness - exactly what I like to see...

  2. I love Bourjois for bases!
The powder is indeed an awesome one (even if the lightest shade is a smidgen too dark for me now), and the entire Healthy Mix range should just be shoved at people to use.
I didn't get on with the CC eye cream, but maybe anther attempt is needed?
