Five Items Forever in My Makeup Bag

The contents of my makeup bag come and go, switch and rotate, but there some items that stay put no matter what. The space inside my Charlotte Tilbury Makeup Bag is pretty roomy indeed, but that's no excuse to carry excess baggage so I add and subtract in other areas as I please when it comes to those that aren't part of said handful. I'm probably starting to sound a like a bit of a broken record here - you know the deal and my makeup must-haves by now, so lets just say settling on the five items that are forever part of my pouch didn't require a lot of thinking about...

Bases, they arrive and leave but there's one cover-up that'll always be replaced well before it sweeps its last swipe - NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, that's you. Vanilla is my perfect shade match, the dreamy cream formula blending in to hide up every little thing for a flawless finish with glow of radiance about it. In terms of longevity, it hangs about all day and doesn't get all clingy around any dry patches - basically, nothing else will ever measure up. My eye look changes day-to-day, occasion-to-occasion, but if I'm going back to basics, it has to be Bobbi Brown's Shadow Stick in Sand Dune. Twist-up in stick form, it's mess free and makes for a speedy layer on the lids application that lasts all day without any smudges, creases or crinkles and this particular hue is an all-round, warm beigey nude that suits blue-green eyes just nicely. You know the situation with me and blush, and so if there's ever going to be one that's a permanent makeup bag member, its Hourglass' Ambient Lighting Blush in Radiant Magenta. I give you my word that it looks less scary/seriously flattering on compared to its pan appearance and just adds a bright colour to my face that's all kinds of foolproof, more so seeing as they're marbled-up with their Ambient Lighting Powders to tone things down but to also serve a subtle glow.

On shade rotation are the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors for when I'm feeling a gloss in pinky-nude hues that's not at all gloopy, but for the sake of an even, reshaped and resized nude lip, Charlotte Tilbury's Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk creates a stay-put base whilst preventing any chosen lipstick that I pair up with it from bleeding outside the lines - it's the one liner that's converted me to prep my pout and I've got a funny feeling it won't be leaving any time soon....

  11. What a relief... I was worried for your makeup usage :P nothing like a bit of loose powder going willy-nilly to make something white - beige!

  12. Love your makeup bag! I want to try the Clarins Lip Perfectors. In the warmer months I like to have a hint of colour on my lips but am mostly about keeping them hydrated & these sound perfect for me

  14. Great choices; I love all except the Clarins Natural Light Lip Perfectors. I seem to be the only person just not to get the hype around them at. all. I have Nars lipglosses or Chanel Rouge Coco Shines instead :).
