My Go-To Charlotte Nude Lip Trio

Tracking down the perfect nude lip match to couple-up with my much loved smoky eye has been an ongoing affair. Past contenders have either been too wishy-washy for my already drained complexion, or not nude enough, if you know what I'm saying - I've never found the one. Alas, bad things don't always come in three's, as the neutral lip combo from no other than the makeup Goddess herself, C. Tilbury, that landed in my makeup bag as a tripple-piece is all kinds of the glossy, nude-y goodness, whilst packing a bit of a peachy punch, that I've been searching for...

For lining and defining, I kick things off with the Lip Cheat Re-Shape & Re-Size Lip Liner in Pillow Talk. I firstly trace the outline before filling in all over - not only does it deliver a bit of a push-up, plump action for your pout, it stops further products bleeding outside the line and acts as a base for a longer lasting application. Über velvety in texture, it melts upon contact and leaves a super smoothed out result, which can survive through burger eating and cocktail drinking for up to 6 hours, plus it's fully waterproof, so won't budge anywhere it shouldn't. I then go in and layer up with the K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in Penelope Pink; a won't-wash-you-out kind of nude. Infused with protective anti-oxidants, lips are left pert and hydrated and an added blend of special waxes means the bullet glides on a dream creamy. Formulated too with light-deffusing pigments to bring a full-body effect, the results that are muck akin to a cashmere soft finish, just with a whole lot of luminosity.

That's as far as I'll take it for daytime wear, but I top it off with a slick of Lip Lustre in Seduction to plump, boost and coat if I venture out in an evening. It takes a lot to come close to my Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector favourites, but with a creamy-vinyl texture that almost makes me want to smack my chops together, these too I am slotting under the non-sticky, gloop-free lacquer category, and this particular number just brings the whole nude lip layering together nicely. The perfect companion for a subtle smoky eye if you ask me (FYI I've cracked out my NAKED palette for the first time in a long time, and let's just say the love has been rekindled).

  5. Girl, you look stunning with your perfect nude lips. Really need to look into that shade. I think you'd love the shade Amazing Grace from her Matte Revolution range. It's slightly more pink but one that will suit you as well!
