Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Blushers

It doesn't come as much of a shocker that the whole chubby stick craze seems to be extending from lips to cheeks (I'm super excited for Clinique's upcoming Chubby Cheek offerings FYI) but until they're available to feast our paws on, fresh in on the drugstore front Soap & Glory have just dropped their Sexy Mother Blushers - the cheek colour sister to their Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks for lips, matching packaging with colour co-ordinating lids and all. Though their pout pencils have never skimmed my lips, nor has anything else from their cosmetics line graced my face for that matter, for my debut taste I think these were a pretty good place to start...

Three shades make up the range, I opted for the for the two pinky hues - Pinkerbelle, a pretty rose-toned coral and Berry Jamm, a vibrant, hot fuchsia - but skipped the peachy orange to spare my collection another shade that's all too similar. With round-tipped bullets, the melt-upon-touch formula makes application easy-speedy for gliding on your apples. The punchiest is Berry Jamm pigmentation wise, and can look a little Aunt Sally if swept on OTT, Pinkerbelle on the other hand is a tad more sheer but still effortlessly buildable - a good'un for blush scaredy cats like yours truly. I give them a blend, blend, blend with flat fingers and further buff with a fluffy brush if needed and all is set for the day, seriously long lasting, natural looking blush. I can foresee these will be coming into play paired with lashings of mascara and a light BB cream like base for a no-makeup, makeup summer face.

For £9 a stick, they're on the higher price end of the budget blush scale but have me seriously impressed. If you want to see one in action, you can do so in this video, along with a load more of my current drugstore loves. With that said, Soap & Glory cosmetics stand, you haven't seen the last of me yet...

  2. Gorgeous! These little chubby cheek stick look adorable, but seriously the crayon trend is extending to pretty much the whole face! I really want to give these a go, and S&G makeup in general.

  3. I tend to use chubby lip products as a blush when I don't have my proper blush with me, hehe. These look like lovely shades, I'm really digging the mauve one!
