Off Duty Makeup

When the weekend rolls around, my usual Monday - Friday makeup attire gets shunned as I  pile the hair up and go back to basics, or if I can get away with it, fully bare faced. I don't don a lot of coverup or colour as it is, but on Sunday's there's not a sweep of shadow, slick of mascara, or base of foundation to be seen. It's the ultimate no makeup, makeup day in my diary, super natural and barely detectable but there just in case any unplanned-for situations arise...

When the opportunity comes about, I like to give my skin a good breather and go base free but sometimes you need that little somethin' somethin', you know? I've been throwing on Garnier's Miracle Skin Cream which takes me back to the ol’ Origins Vitazing days in the way that it squeezes out almost white but blends into a hint of bronzy tint. A single application delivers one of those stumble-back-and-have-a-good-gawp in the mirror moments as results really are too good to be true; a perfected complexion with a boost of radiance to ward off signs off fatigue and bring the skin a healthy looking hit. It comes with the slightest tackiest texture, but nothing that’s going to stop a future repurchase from happening - plus it smells like holidays, need I say more?

For a natural dewy flush to my apples, Une's Breezy Cheeks Blush in B02 does the job a good’un. Dreamy, creamy in formula, it blends in best when applied with fingers, no brush required - build it up or sheer it out as you like. A quick grip with Shu Uemura’s Lash Curlers is enough to widen lazy weekend eyes meaning mascara can be given a miss. Big, brushed through brows with a hint of tint rock a no makeup look in my eyes and Benefit's Speed Brow serves those up in a single sweep. Being a one-shade-suits-all, it dries to a natural finish and sets things in place for the day without turning crispy. Nice. Even though I load up on the lip balm pre-bed time, my lips are often spared a hydrating slick during the day so on at-home-all-day days I take note. Dr Lipp nicely nourishes whilst leaving behind a slick of sheen. Sunday face in five steps. Simples.

  6. Same Molly! I believe it's only sold through larger Boots and Superdrug now - such a shame as it's a fab brand!

  12. Gonna pick up the Garnier miracle cream on friday, I've wanted the ginzing for ages so I hope this will be a cheap alternative.

  13. It's a spitting swatch of Origins' Vitazing - definitely your best bet if you're looking for an alternative, but make sure it's Vitazing cream you pick up, not the Ginzing ;-)
