Five Beauty Highlights: Week #9

This past week via Instagram: @jessicabeautician

Sample sized skincare... For a mini holiday a few weeks back, I raided my sachet stash to save lugging along full-size skincare, which always turns out to be a good way of trailing new things too; Eve Taylor's Ultra Soothing Cleanser, Origins Modern Friction, Oskia Eye Wonder and Multi-Active Day Cream, Algenist Restoritive Cream and two rediscovered favourites; Liz Earle's Skin Boosting Tonic and a not-so-sampled-sized Origins Drink Up but a good deep treatment for dry skin types nonetheless.

Blooming lovely tulips... What better way to start Monday off on the right foot, add a colour splash beside my monochrome makeup stash and sum up the beginning of spring than in 12 colourful stems?

What's in my Boots basket... Basically just a restock and repurchase of essentials; a 3-for-2 on Fountain supplements, a new tube of Hydraluron and a couple of Vo5 Give Me Texture cans, but in went some first-tries too; John Frieda's Luxurious Volume Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner and Garnier's Miracle Skin Cream, which you've already heard about here

A fresh Cult Beauty delivery... and my favourite kinda parcel at that. My morning skincare routine was in need of a new cleanser and Oskia's Renaissance Gel has long been sat in my online basket patiently waiting for my current choice to finish up - I have high hopes. Now what C.B order is complete without a little Anastasia? I just couldn't resist their latest, a topcoat for your face - more on that to come. And for the least glamorous, most uninteresting purchase cue Aesop's Rinse Free Hand Wash - Carex usually has me covered for on-the-go sanitising duties, but I hear this one is less drying, more moisturising and amazing smelling.

Step aside Emma Hardie... There's a new balm on the block (in my stash anyway). After sampling the Sarah Chapman Ultimate Cleanse from the Daily Essentials collection and enjoying every pump, I chose to take the plunge and purchased the full size. Not as thick as my other balm-like contenders, it's silky smooth and after ridding all makeup remains, leaves the skin feeling super soft - all the more reasons why it's taken the top spot as my evening clean of choice.

A date for your diary: Okay so I'm a day late, but the new Perfection Lumiere Velvet Foundation from Chanel touched down on counters yesterday and I predict it to be a big hit.  Available in 6 shades and priced at £33, it provides a whole load more coverage and longevity than Vitalumiere Aqua and serves up an airbrushed, almost matte finish as opposed to dewy, meaning it may not be any good for the dry skin gals among us, but word on the street is that the Covent Garden Chanel pop-up store are handing out a 'try before you buy', 5 day samples - just what I like to hear...

  1. That Cult Beauty order looks amazing! And I picked up some Indeed Labs loot this week, too: Pepta-Bright. It's still early days, but, so far, it hasn't aggravated my skin, which is a plus.

I went to London at the end of February and I was so eyeing the Sarah Chapman line when I was in Space NK. I got the Emma Hardie instead, but I almost regret it since everyone is saying the SC is better! #beautyproblems
When I get back to the US, I'm so trying the Garnier cream.

  3. Tulips are my favourite flower, so pretty! Do you think you could do a review on those fountain supplements, I'm so intrigued by them and would love to hear what you think! :) xx

  4. Ooo I'm yet to try Pepta-bright - let me know your thoughts after a while, I might have to pick one up myself ;-)

  5. Ah bummer! I still love my Emma Hardie cleanser but I think I much prefer the SC Ultimate Cleanse - you guys can get it over there on the US Space NK site, worth noting for when you run out of EH ;-)

  6. Mine too Mikah! Ah I already have, I spoke about them in my January Favourites and in my Beauty Supplements, Seeds and Vitamins post - hope these help :-)
