The MUJI Beauty Event

Let's rewind back to Tuesday night where I hot footed my way down to the MUJI Oxford St store in London; flutes of rosé were flowing, Shu Uemura makeup artists mustered up smoky eye makeovers and there were more stacks of acrylic storage than you could shake a stick at. The event was in fact in celebration of the drawers in question, which you'll now find as part of a beauty blogger themed storage bay across all UK stores - we all know, love and own 'em, right?...

Prior to the night, I'd teamed up with MUJI, alongside the lovely Lily Pebbles and Nouvelle Daily, to sum up exactly why the stacks float my cosmetic storage boat. It's true - you've seen my seasonal edition edits of what gets rotated regularly makeup wise for easy reach in my 3 drawer box, I just think they're fab. An extension to my drawer set has been a long time coming - it's safe to say I took full advantage of the 20% discount that was being dished out with every purchase on the night and so I may just have left armed with a few new additions.

Upstairs in their newly renovated store, shelves are stacked with a wide selection of the see-through storage, cosmetic accessories and home fragrance (those tinned candles? Amazing) as well as the beauty blogger themed feature displaying an array of their best sellers. Downstairs, you'll find a host of homeware, the most comfortable looking clothing you ever did see and a table with even bigger Lily feature surrounded by yet more acrylic drawers piled high.

Two Shu Uemura makeup artists were on hand during the evening, conjuring up a different smoky eye creation on everyone who took a seat in their chairs. I was put into the safe hands of one and we chatted all things cosmetics whilst she worked her magic - paired with a flat brush, the Smooth Fit Fluid Foundation firstly ensured a flawless satin finish, managing to perfect imperfections yet still with a healthy look. Eye wise, she used the Poreraser UV Under Base Mousse as a base pre-shadow, a wash of peachy rose gold went over the lids for starters and she then got to work with a flat angled brush dipped in a medium purple powdered shadow, lining my upper and lower lash line. Brows got a bit of shading in and a good comb through, she brushed an apricot blush to my cheeks and topped things off with a slick of Gloss Unlimited on the lips in a nude hue. Right up my street.

Before the night came to a close, I grabbed Lily for a super-quick hello, she's such a lovely gal and yup, even more stunning in the flesh (cheers to Lucy for the above snap!). A big thank you also to the guys and gals at MUJI for holding an awesome event, I had a blast, but for those of you who were unable to make it along, the 10%  MUJI beauty discount has been extended until March 16th - online shoppers, enter the code MUJIBEAUTY at the checkout and if you're stocking up in store, be sure to present the downloadable voucher (here). Happy shopping!

  4. Muji storage is sooo popular but that's because it's so good! It's perfect for everything and I love how I can actually see everything through the acrylic!

  8. I recently got Muji drawers, and although shipping to Canada was pretty steep, I am so happy I ordered some, they are such great quality! :)
