The Best Budget Face Mask?

I'd be telling porkies if I were to say every budget mask buy on the shelves of Boots has graced my face at some point, so it's a pretty bold claim I'm about to make in saying Una Brennan's Rose Hydrate Intense Moisture Mask is the best of the bunch, but stay with me now. Other contenders in my stash tend to come from the higher end of the price scale as I believe with skincare, you pay for quality and not everything from the drugstore will always compare. This trusty treatment however, is where I'm proved wrong - inexpensive yet effective and much akin to the more luxe lot after a scan of its contents...

Formula wise, this sits in the creamy category, though if I've got a little carried away with a bit of YouTube viewing and left a layer on twice (or three) times as long as stated, it turns almost matte and clay-like in texture - especially in the thinner application patches - I'm going to put that down to the kaolin it contains, a deep cleansing, detoxing ingredient. Speaking of those, there's also a hefty dose of white willow extract, a cell turnover encourager, then vitamin E and mashmallow have the hydrating, plumping and replenishing duties. They must be doing something right as things are left feeling considerably nourished, soft and supple - five minutes is all you need, I build it up into a thick coating and when I feel it's done its thang, I'll whip out my hot cloth, aka a Primark flannel and wipe it off.   On the scent side of things, it sure is rosey, not overly overwhelming but if you're not a fan of floral then I'd step away - my only quibble is the added perfume; unnecessary IMO when rose water, also listed, can do that job naturally. Best of all it's suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive of complexions.

Coming in at just under £9.00, it really is worth chucking in your basket time when you're on a mad meal-deal lunchtime dash. What's more, the brand is usually on a 3 for 2 offer giving you the chance to test out what else there is to offer - any excuse, eh?

  10. I found this face mask in Winners (similar to TK Maxx) and I was so tempted to give it a try but I decided I had too many face masks already. I might have to go back and pick it up!
