A Dozen Rose Beauty Gifts

February 14th - celebrate it or not - it's soon snuck up and for the last minute gift getters out there, I've somewhat got your back (thank me later). First things first, if you, or the person you're purchasing for is not a floral scent fan, then my Valentine's present edit probably won't be any of any use, as everything you see here is pretty rose centric. Whatever your relationship status, if you're planning a self-treat, treating a loved one or hoping and hinting that a loved one will treat you - forget a dozen red roses, here are a dozen carefully selected beauty bits that will outlast any Valentine's Day bouquet...

Balance Me Rose Otto Collection - Balance Me £12.00 - The perfect petal-scented pairing; Rose Otto Body Wash doubles-up also as bubbles, then followed by a slathering of Rose Otto Body Cream allows the scent to linger longer on the limbs.

Oskia Rose De Mai Massage Candle - Cult Beauty £34.50 - A candle that melts into a body oil. Genius. Made from natural waxes, skin-soothing minerals and vitamins and all that good stuff, skin is nourished, softened and smoothed within a drops worth. Pricey for a small present? Maybe. But think of it as a two-for-one. And hey, it might even mean you bag a back massage out of it yourself.

Jo Malone Red Roses Cologne - Jo Malone £39 30ml, £78 100ml - Take your pick from two different sized spritzes. JM knock the nail on the head when it comes to all scents luxe, this number sees a blend of 7 exquisite roses combined with crushed violets and a hint of lemon. Clean. Sheer. Sophisticated. Simples.

Diptyque Rosa Mundi Candle - Space NK £42 - As a Valentine's Day limited edition offering, Diptyque have rustled up a tinted pink wax housed in a frosted jar, which gives off whiffs of true rose. Even when the wick's not lit, the room still fills with fragrance but a well-cared for Diptyque candle can serve up to 60 hours burn time - that's a whole lot longer lasting than a box of chocs...

By Terry Baume De Rose 10 Year Anniversary Edition - Space NK £38 - A decade on since the birth of Baume De Rose comes a patterned pot of the stuff in celebration. A finger pat of this pout replenisher helps to soothe, plump and protect - plus, it multitasks as a cuticle conditioner too. For £20 more, they've also come up with a Coffret which contains BDR in doe foot form; one for the bedside, one for the handbag.

Fresh Rose Face Mask - Fresh £35 (ish) - I don't think I'll be alone in saying I'd prefer a mask over a meal. Gals? Even if VD ends up being a night in, what better way to spend it than with a slathering of something new from your stash. Infused with real rose petals and pure rosewater, this gel-like textured treatment hydrates and tones. A winner for any woman.

Crabtree and Evelyn Rosewater Hand Therapy - Feel Unique £14.00 - Hand creams, we can never own too many - they have homes everywhere; desk side, sink side, bedside,  you name it. Fresh and floral are the words which describe this dreamy cream, shea butter adds moisture and rosewater soothes - plus, anything with the word 'therapy' thrown in has got to be good, non?

MUJI Rose Bath Salts - MUJI £5.95 - Because who doesn't love a good salt soak? Cheap and cheerful.

L'Occitane Rose 4 Reines Solid Perfume - L'Occitane from £7.50 - Here's something a little different - hows about a perfume in solid form harboured in a dinky tin? It's handbag friendly, and all things handbag friendly go down well.

Diptyque Baies Room Spray - Space NK £34.00 - If candles aren't her/your thang, then maybe a room perfume is. Wafts of red fruits and rose come from this one, spritzed mid-air here and there instantly dresses up, personalises and creates a walm welcome to any space. Classier than a can of Ambi Pur, eh?

REN Moroccan Rose Otto Bath Oil - John Lewis £30.00 - Heaven. In. A. Bottle. Made up of Moroccan rose otto oil that's been steam distilled from petals - a good glugg turns your tub milky white for the ultimate non-bubbly bath brew. Wave goodbye to stress and say hello to rejuvenated senses and super soft skin.

Aromatherapy Associates Rose Hydrating Body Gel - Aromatherapy Associates £30.00 - The thought of slapping a cold gel on your limbs may not be a pleasant one around this time of year, but come the summer you'll be thanking a tube of this stuff (and we've already seen enough creams and oils in this edit, let's be honest). Rosewater, evening primrose and geranium are the key ingredients here, all contributing to improved circulation and silky smooth skin. If it's anything like their Hydrating Overnight Face Mask, I'd be quite up for a full-body coating in the stuff...

So whether your planning a low-key eve in or a date night out, let's hope something luxe from the list above lands in your lap (and perfectly gift wrapped at that), even if you have had to action a few elbow nudges. *Sends 'accidental' email to boyfriend, gift guide  well and truly attached...*
