Sephora Splurgin' (Again...)

Not gonna lie, I believe my heart may have recently experienced a skipped beat when my sights were unexpectedly reunited with the biggest, bestest, fully bulked-out beauty haven known to any cosmetic maven, that place none other than Sephora (you got it in one). Spotted from the opposite end of the mall to the other, I hot-footed it right on over there - head-hung-low boyfriend in tow, I didn't have a lot of time but seeing as the offerings here weren't as wide as what I got a taste for in The Big Apple, I still managed to make some pretty snappy decisions...

I scurried off to the Sephora own brand brush stand for starters - their Mineral Powder Brush has been on my wishlist for the longest time, not picking it up in NYC was a big regret of mine and so into the basket it dropped. I've heard through the beauty grape-vine that this gives a pretty flawless foundation application, it's been said the short and stubby bristles make buffing-in a breeze, and although my RT Expert Face Brush reigns supreme in my face base tool collection, I'm all for trying something new.

Upon eye-contact with the NARS display, I was reminded just how much I needed their Radiant Creamy Concealer in my makeup life. Easily accessible in the UK, yes, but the last time I checked, my best-matched shade 'Vanilla' was out-of-stock. Everywhere. Lip gloss-like with its doe-foot sponge, it smooths on in a slick, blends in super easily and lasts long-time - no creases, crinkles or cakey-ness - just creamy, colour correcting, light coverage - I give full credit to anything that'll camouflage those pesky blue-toned circles sitting underneath my peepers.

Lastly to get lobbed in alongside the two was MUFE's Smoky Lash Mascara, another highly-hyped beauty blogger fave. Akin to the awesome YSL mascaras, it dries out pretty quick I hear, but the mega volumizing and lengthening effects give it its reputation - something tells me this could just be the ticket to top off my go-to bronzey eye.

Stay tuned for a haul video heading in the direction of your YouTube subscription box soon - in the meantime I'll be giving these beauty bits a good ol' road test in order to pass on my verdict. You're welcome. I can tell you now that the 10%-off-during-your-next-visit discount card that made its way into my bag at the checkout won't be going to waste, I'd best get cracking with a wishlist update...

  1. Great purchases! Whenever I'm lucky enough to see a Sephora, a funny thing snaps in my head and I lose all restraint. Hmm. I have the creamy concealer in vanilla and it's lovely. Looking forward to hearing your views on the brush! xx

  2. I recently went on business to Santa Clara and I went out of my way to get to a Sephora, the calling of a Sephora seems hard to resist for any woman! (At least the beauty obsessed woman)

  5. I used to work a few blocks away from TWO Sephoras (no wonder I earned VIB Rouge status...), and now work nowhere near one. I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad!

Ooh, I'll have to check out that mascara! I have long lashes, but they're thin and light at the tips, so that sounds like it might be great for me. Cheers!

  13. THAT BRUSH! I've been after it for a while now but I still haven't gotten my hands on it. Ever since I heard about it from Estee, I've been dying to get it. I should really just hunt it down in a local Sephora.
