January Blues Be Gone...

I don't know about you, but sure enough the January blues have kicked in for me and as tempted as I am to welcome a lumie light box into my life, I'm heading down the beautifying route in an attempt to lift my spirits. Say hello to the mood boosting oils, a comfort candle and an easy detox as these miracle numbers are working their wonders, seeing me right through 'til spring...

I'm currently striking a match to Miller Harris' Terre De Bois candle - a wintery, woody fragrance, fitting the bill for these dreary days, but with green and fresh tones, notes of naturally uplifting bergamot and patchouli blended with accents of citrus, it's definitely a scent to put you in a good mood. Plus, just take a look at that glass design - stunning, non?

The last thing I feel like doing after stepping out of a steaming shower onto cold tiles is slapping on some of L'Occitane's Almond Milk Concentrate, but a deep breath and speedy application later, limbs are left soft, smelling sweet and souped-up with moisture. It's extremely light this one and sinks right in, making the get-ready process a breeze - not to mention just how luxe the stuff is. Perking up my dull skin days is Tata Harper's Resurfacing Mask, a gel-type texture which naturally sloughs away dead cells, reduces redness and shrinks pore size revealing an instant good skin glow - does what it says on the tin, this.

Now, Aromatherapy Associates Bath and Shower Oil is where tub-time gets pimped. I've got their Essential Travel Collection, not only good for when you're on the move but also for sampling and switching things up when you want. My blend of choice is Relax Deep, but for those impossible-to-detach-self-from-duvet days I highly hype adding a splash of Revive Morning to your wakeup wash. Whenever I'm in a bit of a 'meh' moment or can't easily snooze (not often a problem) the This Works Stress Less rollerball comes into play. Ran over pressure points it works an absolute treat at calming and soothing - being handbag-friendly size too makes it a portable pick-me-up. My vow for a daily yoga sesh is long gone, I'll get there, but in the meantime a head-to-toe body brush gets your blood flow going, aiding a detox from within. On the outside it makes for a great dry skin exfoliator, and the difference seen even days later is incredible - mine's from The Body Shop but you can track them down pretty much anywhere. And so with that ritual said, done and dusted on a near daily basis things are looking up - January blues be gone...
