Five Beauty Highlights: Week #4

This past week in Instagram: @jessicabeautician

Mid-week brush laundry. Alright, for starters I've got to address the fact that last weeks FBH didn't happen and so I'm bringing you a merged together montage of the past two weeks via Instagram. My first lot of brush laundry happened the second week of this month (New Year's resolution fail) and all of my most used tools got a well-needed deep clean. In case you're wondering, Dr Bronner's 18-in-1 Tea Tree Magic Soap is my brush shampoo of choice - it suds up nicely, leaves my bristles squeaky clean and kills of all bacteria because of its anti-bac properties.

Filming face. An example of my camera-ready complexion goes a little something like this: Bourjois' Happy Light Foundation for the base, an almost satin finish with a bit of a glow that lasts without a real need for a touch-up, a sweeping of NARS' Laguna Bronzer gives a healthy year-round radiance, brows brushed and shaded with Anastasia's Brow Wiz in Ash Blonde, something subtle smoky on the eyes using Chanel's Charming palette, followed up with lashings of YSL's Les Singulier Mascara and finished off with a swipe of MAC's Hue Lipstick.

Revlon's latest in lips. Released Wednesday and in my Boots basket that very morning - my picks are from their latest matte offerings are Standout, Sultry and Striking. Watch this space, shade swatches are on their way...

Perfume pondering. Almost three weeks on and the scents that still lightly linger on these fancy paper sticks have re-confirmed I need to welcome into my life my first bottle of Jo Malone. You kindly shared away your JM fragrance faves when this pic was posted, but I've prepared a post for next week that'll further be picking your brains.

Pretty pastel polishes. *sigh* Can it just be spring already? There's a specially selected shade bunch ready and waiting to adorn my nails (not all at once) featuring some oldies, some newbies and probably, some even newer newbies to come the next time I pass an Essie stand - roll on next season so I'm able to sport something a little brighter on my talons.

A date for your diary: Listen up, for I've got two pieces of good news this week as last week's post was a little absent. The most exciting announcement to get my beauty taste buds tingling is the upcoming arrival of Giorgio Armani at Debenhams - I don't have an exact date for you, but it has been confirmed on their Facebook page and going by that, we won't have to wait a whole lot longer - I'm keeping their 'New Arrivals' page on constant refresh...

Now, for all you MUJI acrylic makeup storage lovers wanting to stock up on a new set of drawers, or even any cosmetic accessories or home fragrances, you can enjoy a 10% discount in store (*voucher* - you're wecome) or online with the code MUJIBEAUTY until 13th Feb. What better excuse to expand your cosmetic collection, eh?!

  1. Oh, look at all those lovely brushes! :) xx

  2. I thought about picking up a bottle of Dr. Bronner's for brush cleansing a while ago! Right now I'm using handmade bar soap, it gets rid of pesky staining really well without the harshness of commercial soap. It's just too bad that the discount only seems eligible in your area - can't find one for the US ;(

  3. All of your instagram photos are ridiculously pretty and always enable me to buy something new! Love you Jessica :)

  6. Ah that sounds awesome - got a feeling you'd love Dr Bronner's just as much ;-) Sorry Becky, completey forgot to put it's UK only - hopefully your side of the pond might get something soon! x

  7. Ah what a lovely comment! Thanks Kate, much love :-) x
