I'll be back for you, Luminous Silk... Only did I make eye contact with a Giorgio Armani counter after I'd spent out at the airport before my return flight home. A swatchathon of Luminous Silk confirmed exactly why this foundation sits top of my wishlist and almost a week on, I'm still kicking myself for the fact that I came so close, yet was so far. I'll be sure to have a back-up bank balance ready and waiting for the next time we meet and without a doubt LS will be mine...
Post flight face pick-me-ups. You saw the saviours which saved me from thirsty skin, sleep loss and picking up a sickness here, but an honourable mention has got to go to the cosmetics I counted on for a complexion pick-me-up post-flight. For base beginners, I went in with Dior's BB Creme to give me that faux-good-skin-glow, followed by a slick of the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in all the right places, a dusting of Dior's Healthy Glow Enhancing Powder, a crimp on the lashes from Shu Uemura's curlers, lashings of Clinique's High Impact Extreme Volume mascara and a swipe of the Clarins Lip Perfector in Candy Shimmer. Jet lag? What jet lag?
The fountain(s) of youth? These two skincare supplements have almost very nearly jumped into my Boots basket or more than one occasion - this time it happened and boy am I glad it did. One a fruity flavoured beauty molecule which contains resveratrol, an ingredient naturally found in Japanese knotweed that is a proven strong antioxidant and inflammatory, the second a hyaluronic acid concentrate providing plumpness to the skin from within. I've been throwing them in my smoothies and waters, or just downing them alone, and I'm starting to see big results. Watch. This. Space.
Friday gel-day. Facials aside, gel polishing is my next favourite treatment in line. My chosen products are OPI - crazy pigmented colour with a chip-free formula and high-shine, glossy surface goodness, plus they have the same shades in the gels as they do the regular polishes. Genius. They're becoming one of my most popular bookings and I spent my Friday this week tending to one set of talons after the other - the best kinda work day IMO...
Good evening, face. Some oldies, some newbies, but some goodies. My current evening makeup removal ritual consists of a cleanse with Pai's Camellia and Rose Cleanser, followed by the two-step tone, a dab of the This Works Tired Eyes Serum on my puffy peepers and a final layer of Kate Somerville's GMC.
A date for your diary: We'll need to rewind a week and a bit, but hear me out on this one. The 31st December seemed to circle as the release date for Hydraluron... in sheet mask form (say what?!) - housing four quick skin fixes in a pack for £19.99, these one-off treatments are soaked in a next generation 3D hyaluronic acid with time release formula to sort out dehydrated faces. I've scoured the shelves of all four of my local Boots' and there's no sign yet - some of you lucky lot have already managed to get your mitts on them - but for the rest of us, the wait won't be too much longer as they'll be stocked in all stores by the end of the month. I know exactly how I'll be trading in my accumulated Advantage Card points - ker-ching!
