Five Beauty Highlights: Week #1

This past week in Instagram: @jessicabeautician

Putting Kai and Sarah Chapman to the travel test. I've had both these sampler sets rolling about in an empty suitcase ready for my next getaway and finally the time came to trial. I transferred my Kai minis (shampoo|conditioner|body wash|bathing bubbles|body lotion) into the rest of my travel toiletries and used the clear pouch as my in-flight beauty bag. The verdict? I like. The SC Cleansing Mitt has replaced my EH Cleansing Cloths and I can say I'll be saving my pennies for the full size versions of Ultimate Cleanse and Overnight Facial.

Jo Malone Scent Spritzathon. Hanging about in Gatwick airport has its benefits when you just happen to step foot into a Jo Malone store. With a good 2 hours before my flight and a mahoosive table display of candles, bath and body bits and the full collection of their signature collognes before my eyes, it's safe to say I got a bit spritz happy - Blackberry and Bay is the current fragrance fave and you can bet it's been added to the wishlist.

Sephora, we meet again... You heard it right. And I couldn't believe my eyes either - needless to say I hot-footed it right on in there. Cosmetic offerings weren't as wide as what I'd seen in New York, but I wasn't complaining - leading me onto the next snap...

Well, what did you expect? UK gals (and anyone else without a Sephora usually in their sights) I know you got my back on this. Leaving purchase-free just wasn't going to happen - I've now marked off another three hard-to-get-hold-of purchases from my 'to-try' tick-list, all will be revealed...

The BEST start to the year. Not exactly a beauty related pic, but hear me out on this one, as for the past 4 days the Cheshire cat-esque grin on my face has been un-wipe-off-able. I got engaged on NYE to my bloke of 7 years and couldn't be more chuffed, hence this capture making the cut. For fellow beauty fiends, the polish I'm sporting is OPI's GelColor in Russian Navy, a deep midnight blue with subtle shimmer - probably not showing up at its best against a black background so I'll try and re-snap this shade at some point.

A date for your diary: Remember the Chanel and Dior pop-up shops in Covent Garden? Well Burberry have only gone and nestled in, in the same parade of boutiques with the Burberry Beauty Box. It features seasonal beauty look launches, fragrances and accessories, a 'Digital Nail Bar' allowing you to ''try on'' the latest lacquer shades, but the best bit comes as their Runway Made to Order to beauty, an option meaning customers can immediately purchase the beauty products after they've appeared in the seasonal Burberry ready-to-wear shows. Fab or what? Set aside a shopping date and make this top of your places to pay a visit to - I won't be far behind...
