Ready in Twenty

I'll let you into a secret - I'm a leave-things-'til-the-last-minute kinda person, especially when it comes to getting ready (hence the lack of 'Get Ready With Me' type videos, I'm working on it). Here's an example for you: one morning this week I was more than happy busying myself in the kitchen, perfecting my pancake flipping skills when one glance at the clock suggested I had a mere twenty minutes to get myself out of the door, in a decent state. In these sorts of situations it goes a little something like this (and yes, I still had time for those pancakes)...

Nothing sums up a quick cleanse better than a swipe over with Bioderma - I'll soak a large oval cotton pad to make sure I go all over. When my roots are in need of a spruce without a full wash, they simply get a blast with dry shampoo, and Klorane's Dry Shampoo with Oatmilk is the best I've come across in my tracks. Sensitive scalp gals listen up, this fine mist does the job without causing itchiness or irritation and the subtle soap-like smell doesn't mingle too much with perfume. Speaking of scents, I'll go over wrists and the neck in speedy squiggle using Fresh's Rollerball Brown Sugar Fragrance and deodorant wise, I take a pump per armpit of Fig + Yarrow's Underarm Lotion.

Then comes the face. Dior's Nude BB Cream has been my base fave to date - lightweight, but with decent coverage, it still manages to give me a healthy looking glow and I don't even feel the need for concealing. I definitely deem it a slap-on-and-go step and blended in with fingers just looks all the more natural. NARS' Multiple in Orgasm perks up cheeks in a streak, followed by a blend with two fingers. Now, it's either a quick fix for eyes or lips; a bold pout looks as if you've made the effort (when really, you haven't) but lately I've been playing up the lids and Sephora's Jumbo Eye Pencil serves up something smokey and sultry in sweep. Prior to that, lashes get a squeeze from Shu Uemura's Eyelash Curlers and the final step is a quick coating of Clinique's High Impact Extreme Mascara. Paired with this look, I opt for something nude and Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Charm is the perfect peachy hue. Again, being the chunky crayon sort, it applies like a breeze without the need of a mirror check.

Breakfast down, shoes on and an alright appearance thrown together in twenty - Done. Ooo-er I feel all in a rush just writing this up...

  2. I'm the exact same as you in the mornings. I need to have my sit down with my bowl of porridge and relax before I even THINK about getting ready.
(and thank god you still had time for the pancakes!)
