My First Taste of Tata Harper

Recommendations from you lot are the best kind of recommendations. Aren't I nice, eh? It's true. My New York shopping list extended onto a whole new page when state side beauty suggestions came my way, but there was one comment which caused my ears to prick. Three words: All. Natural. Skincare. And one product in particular shot its way to the top of my 'to-buy's' - it took some hunting down and it was almost as if Tata Harper's Resurfacing Mask and I weren't meant to cross the purchase path, but my last hope that was Bloomingdales had one remainder on the shelf - you can only imagine how speedy I snapped that up...

As a brand I'd never heard of, things were all the more intriguing and this radiance renewer of the range sounded like my kind of mask. The scent is just like sweet rosewater,  ├╝ber refreshing and light, nothing too in yer face. Free from nasties, it's only formulated with the good stuff; Pink Clay for detoxifying properties, White Willow Extract for gentle exfoliation and Beet for a hit of hydration. Texture wise, it's pretty gloopy and almost scoops out in blobs (think smushed jelly), yet goes on super smooth, it's easy to get slap happy - I tend to smother it on in small sections; forehead, cheeks and chin to prevent going application overboard. I busy myself for the recommended 20-30 minutes, catch a YouTube video (or ten) and by that time it's dried up a bit and is good to wash away. The results? I can report this does what it says on the tin. Resurfaced? Check. Instant glow? Check. My complexion is left quite literally luminous, feels slightly tightened - in a good way - no uncomfortable or drying effects going on here, just SO smooth to the touch. Enlarged pores are temporarily minimised, redness dramatically reduced and blemishes are close to being banished - it can even be popped on pimples alone as a specialist spot treatment.

At £44 it's a pricey little pot, but if you're feeling splurgy I urge you to give it a go, Cult Beauty have it here and Space NK are now stocking the line. I hear the TH serum does amazing things too, the very lovely Bloomingdales assistant insisted on filling me up a sample pot and threw a sachet of the Repairative Moisturiser in with it which I created a skincare sandwich out of and it was lush, but at £120 *gulp* I think that serum will only ever stay a wish on my list...

  1. If the founder's skin (which is amazing) is anything to go by, the range is definitely worth a check. But the price! :)

  2. This sounds seriously amazing. I'm always in search of an exfoliating mask, but ones like the REN Glycol Lactic irritates my skin really easily.

    1. Ah I love the REN mask, but I can see what you mean, it's slightly tingly and not one for sensitive skins - this one's a lot more gentle, if you ever see it at a counter make sure you ask for a sample ;-)
