Day to Night Touch Ups

An SPF base, a heavy duty concealer covering and light slick on the lashes - there wasn't a lot more to my face in the sweltering city of New York, though come evening I favoured fixing any makeup mishaps which have migrated in the heat, but without having to head back in the direction of my hotel room. So for late night eats of simply a wonder around (heck, this has even been achieved on an open-roof night tour bus) these are the 'top-up' cosmetic picks I lugged about in my bag...

As soon as BECCA's Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed was purchased, into my on-the-go group it went. A dab with the ring finger, popped in the inner eye corner and on the brow and cheekbones gave my complexion a bit of a perk up, but be warned - the mirror is there for a reason, and that reason being too much powder packed on can cause cray cray shimmer overload. I'd been craving a little something smoky when the sun went down eye wise - cue Rimmel's Scandaleyes Stick in Bad Girl Bronze which serves up sultry lids and lower lash line in a single sweep. Uber soft, creamy colour housed in the chubby crayon sort, it lasts nearly as long as my Bobbi Brown faves but with NARS's Pro-prime base still seriously stuck on since morning application, it definitely didn't crease even in the night time heat. Lastly, for a quick slick on the lips it was the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Petal Shimmer, one that can be chucked on minus a mirror thanks to its easy peasy spongy doe-foot. With my eyes the main focus, this just gives a hint of subtle pink with a glossy finish that's far from gloopy. And that was the lot, freshly fragranced and a re-made up face in minutes with the help of four wonder workers.

  1. So lovely! I can't wait to get back to the US in December to get the Rimmel Eyeshadow Stick. I think I can get it in Spain, but everything's so expensive!
