Fig + Yarrow Underarm Lotion

I won't divulge too deep into perspiration issues, but just the thought of wearing a grey tee without having to sneak a peek in case of any pesky wet patches is a nice thought indeed, and that's sure enough the reason why a new deodorant with a difference discovery of mine has had me shouting from the sweat-free rooftops to any gals (or guys) in need of a godsend - oh yes, it's definitely been something worth flapping my arms about...

A procrastination session on Cult Beauty soon lead to Fig + Yarrow's Underarm Lotion making its way into my virtual shopping basket. Now any natural based brand gets a thumbs up from me, but their stuff is seriously stripped back, and in a good way - I've been there with the botanical based deodorants before but nothing I can really write home about and soon headed back to heavy duty twist-up anti-perspiration sticks. Chemical and aluminium free, this one however, is a non-toxic alternative, bypassing the ol' pore clogging technique and instead soaks up excess sweat (noice) and wicks off unwanted bacteria. There's a slight tingle which takes place upon initial application, but I like to think that's where it's getting to work - cooling, soothing and leaving you feeling super fresh. The herbal-like unisex scent is down to hints of Lavender, Fir and Patchuli to name but a few, then extracts and minerals of Sage, Tea Tree and Zinc oxide have the deodorising duties. Light in consistency and far from a sticky texture, there's also a decent dose of Witch Hazel, Aloe Vera and Shea Butter to keep the thin skin under there soft, smooth and supple.

The full list of bits inside is a long one, but for fellow ingredient fiends, this one's for you: Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe)*, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract*, Glycine Max (Soy Lecithin)*, Salvia Officinalis (Sage Extract)*, Unrefined Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter*, Cocos Nucifera (Unrefined)*, Zinc Oxide, Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda), Emulsifying Wax NF (Cetearyl Alcohol And Polysorbate 60), Sea Salt (Dead Sea), Sodium Borate, Citric Acid, Essential Oils Of Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender), Pogostemon Cablin (Patchouli), Cymbopogon Martinii (Palmarosa), Abies Alba (Fir Needle), Citrus Aurantium (Petitgrain), Salvia Officinalis (Sage), Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree). *Organic

At £13.00 a bottle it's dearer than your average deod, but a little lasts a really long way - I use a pump per pit and it's the perfect sized serving. So with the unspoken sweaty topic now spoken and the deodorant rant and rave over, I can now call off the search for yet another saviour in the toiletry department...

  1. I'd love to know if this compares in consistency to the likes of the Dove Sure Maximum Protect range. I like those but can't say they really help too much, and certainly don't last up to 48 hours!

    1. Ah I can't say I've tried those, but this is just really light and blends in lovely! (I don't trust those old 48 hour ones, why advertise a deodorant to last for 2 days, do they think people won't wash in between?!) ;-) x

  3. This looks great. I've been using neals yard deodorant for the past couple of months but I'm reaching the end of my bottle and might give this a go. X
