The Muji Drawers: Spring Edition

Spring for me screams pretty pinks, peaches and pastels, paired with my daily dose of bold brows and a natural complexion. Seeing as signs of the season may have just about 'sprung', I wasted no time in stocking up my go-to makeup Muji stack with the Spring picks I'm hoping to make the most of for the next couple of months. Here's what it'll be housing...

First up, the bases. A sunny weather saviour of mine is the Origins Vitazing SPF 15 - the smallest blob preps my skin with dewy, glowy goodness and the slightest hint of tint. On the foundation front is Clarins's Skin Illusion for an everyday fresh, flawless face and then By Terry's Sheer Cover Expert which provides light layering yet still corrects imperfections - more of a going out/evening extra. Current concealers are the Diorskin Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating concealer for masking under eye circles and MAC Studio Finish on blemishes.

For a subtle wash of all-over warmth, I'll be swirling my brush into Guerlain's Terracotta Bronzing Powder in #00, a natural finish with subtle sheen, whilst Diorskin's Nude Shimmer Powder adds a golden glow patted onto high points. Creamy cheek colours are on constant rotation - UNE's Breezy Cheeks in B02 is a pale, dusky pink whereas Revlon's PhotoReady cream blush in 'Pinched' is a build-able, coral flush. There's also two powder products in the mix, Chanel's Joues Contraste in Frivole comes as part of this years Spring collection and is an attention-grabbing apricot, then MAC's Melba puts a pop of peach on my apples.

Eye-wise, I know I'll be sweeping on Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in 'Sand Dune', a neutral number that stays put for every day wear. Another creamy choice is Chanel's Illusion D'Ombre 'Emerveille' for peachy lid perfection, and for a subtle smoky selection there's the NARS 'And God Created The Woman' palette paired with the pro-prime base. Two firm favourites are Anastasia's Brow Wiz which helps frame my face and Custom 3 Color's Light Clarifying Pencil for a quick-fix brighten on the waterline, then for long lasting, lengthened lashes I've got Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Intensifying mascara on the go.

Lastly, lips - Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors glide on leaving a non-gloopy, but extremely glossy finish in three natural hues. A 'my lips but better' shade, with added shimmer, is Chanel's Rouge Coco Shine 'Boy' and is amazing at maintaining moisture, as are the Dior Addict lipsticks, my Spring pick being 'Rose Deshabille'. And not forgetting nails - I've been layering on Illamasqua's speckledy 'Scarce' lacquer recently, a lilac, pinky pastel with flecks and dots of navy blue - lurve!

Organised and easily obtainable - there'll be a shuffle around seasonally and I'll be sure to document it. For reference, I've got the 3 Narrow Drawer Unit, it can't cope with the chunkier cosmetics but fits the bill for anything small, sleek and slim. I've seen them in-store and ordered online - I recommend! (If you can put up with the messy makeup fingermarks that is!).

  1. Love this draws! Are they sturdy? I'm slightly hesitant to get them because I have to travel too and from university a lot and would be worried they might break during travel!
