The Best of Lip Balms

I lose count of the number of balms lurking in the depths of my bag, that are crammed into desk drawers and which swamp my bedside table, it's safe to say my lips are never far from a trusty treatment, but there are a fair few which stand out from the stash for maintaining moisture, priming your pout and even adding a hint of tint...

The best of the bunch for me is Dr Lipp's Original Nipple Balm for Lips - it's thick, sticky and almighty tricky to squeeze out but when smeared on works wonders overnight, not to mention its multiple uses for cuticles, dry skin and split ends too. The 'cheap and cheerful' award goes to Burt's Bees Honey Lip Balm. A quick slick of this makes it one of my out-and-about go-to lip products of choice thanks to its twist-up stick form. My other handbag friendly favourite is the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, I'm currently gliding on the Rose Tinted formula which gives lips a slight pinky gloss whilst moisturising long-time ensuring a cracked, chapped and flake free result (it's lemon sherbet-like scent never fails to go unnoticed either!).  Another night-time nourisher is Nuxe Reve De Miel as its more of a rich paste but has gritty exfoliating beads which melt when applied and with a matte finish it works well as a pre-lipstick primer.

Last up is the Korres Lip Butter in Guava, although any of their delicious scents will do to be honest! It gives a touch of natural tint alone or paired with your favourite lippy adds a slight sheen and tones down colour - they really do have a 'buttery' texture too. As far as polishing goes, the tasty LUSH lip scrubs do a pretty good job at giving rough skin a gentle buff and can just as easily be made at home - used a few times weekly leaves a smooth surface for lipstick application perfection.

I'd better get this bundle back to their allocated places... I can't be the only one here ;-)

  1. These all sound lovely. I really shouldn't be tempted for more as my handbag alone contains at least 5. You've totally convinced me to try the fresh sugar lip treatment though xx

  2. I am an official chap stick addict. And I actually own three of your choices as well. The fresh one (though the regular sugar) is absolutely amazing - GOTTA stock up when in London in March. It even took over my beloved Burt's Bees stick, though here I also have a slightly different version (the regular one, which is minted but works wonders on chapped lips). Last but not least I got the Nuxe balm from a very good friend as a belated Christmas present and use it as an overnight treatment.
Personally I also love the chap stick from the brand "ChapStick" and I got both the medicated version and the cherry version (the very "cherry chap stick" from Katie Perry's song) and have been using both for years (we are talking 14 years here). I also tried the eos products last year and love especially the Sweet Mind one, which is also currently residing on my night stand :)

  6. All these look nice, though I have not tried most of them. I do have Burt's Bees right now, and it works wonderfully. You are right. It's super easy to apply.
