Products I've Used Up in June

I'm finding it quite hard to believe it's been over a month since I posted my last 'empties' video, time really does fly when you're busy trying to use up old products, eh?! This months video actually features quite a few hair products as well as samples and miniatures from previous GlossyBoxes. There is one item in particular which I rave about (and I'm secretly obsessing over!) and I'm sure your going to see in other videos to come, it might even get its own blog post ;-)

I've never felt encouraged to use up samples before, they were gradually building up and I was waiting to find a purpose for them, ideally for if I went away over a weekend or on a mini break, which doesn't happen all that often! I also never thought that using a sample up would encourage me to purchase the full size (this has only happened on very rare occasions!). I'm now starting to think this whole 'products I've used up' concept is going to become quite dangerous and will lead me to spend more money, although I often excitedly 'fist pump' when the remainders of a product are squeezed from its container, either because I'm glad to see the back of it or because I can't wait to repurchase!

Click on the video above to see what products I've loved and hated, and for all the extra links!

3 Custom Color Light Clarifier Pencil

The amount of attempts to wear a dark pencil liner in my waterline have ended up failing miserably each and every time, I've now accepted that it just doesn't suit me and have found myself actually reaching for the complete opposite.

For a while I had been using Benefit Eye Bright, a creamy pale pink pencil which brightens tired eyes, instantly making them look wide awake, but something about it just wasn't cutting the mustard for me and I sometimes found it to look a little too unnatural. I was on the hunt for a pencil which was slightly more flesh toned and considered possibly one of the MAC Chromagraphic pencils until I came across one of Ruth's from A Model Recommends recent makeup tutorials where she mentioned the 3 Custom Color Light Clarifier Pencil. She has amazing taste in cosmetics and skincare, so I completely trusted her opinions and after reading her blog review on this product, I was sold. Sold I tells ya.

The Light Clarifier Pencil 'perfectly complements the spectrum of skin tones - when applied to the lower inner rim of the eye, it instantly alleviates the look of red, hazy eyes, making them appear brighter, whiter and more beautiful'. As the shade is so natural, it can be used in multiple ways, also to conceal imperfections, define brows, reshape the lips and to conceal laugh lines. Plus, it's waterproof and I find it lasts pretty well considering I get watery eye syndrome as soon as I step foot outside the house (does anyone else get that?! Jesus, it's the worst thing.) I would say the nib is quite sharp and scratchy, so it's a good idea to warm the product up on the back of your hand before using it. The list of ingredients doesn't sound all that natural either, online it mentions parabens, whereas on the back of the packet it doesn't, hmm. With that aside, I am hooked on this pencil and it has fast become a staple in my everyday makeup routine. Thumbs up for it being animal friendly too! :-)

Have you discovered any products which are simply 'eye-awakening'?

June Wishlist

After my previous post/video, I really shouldn't be allowing myself to have a wishlist this month but it just can't be helped! In no particular order, the Fushi Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil is something I've wanted to try for a while. It's a well known fact coconut oil is a natural, beneficial treatment for the hair and this is such a huge tub, the cheapest I've come across so far too! I did a trial bridal makeup a few weeks back and my client asked if I could use some of her own products, Chantecaille Total Concealer being one of them. She said it was one of her all time favourites and when I applied it to her skin I could see why, it's so light, but blends in beautifully and covers amazingly well. The Michael Kors Rose Gold Plated Chronograph Watch is totally non-beauty related but this has been on my wishlist for the longest time, I'm just waiting for another ASOS 20% off to come round (feel free to bombard me with tweets if you know when one pops up!). It's simple yet stunning and would polish off any outfit. I recently used up a pretty generous sized sample of the Ahava Mineral Deadsea Water Mineral Body Lotion and I only have one word to say about this, WOW! I tweeted that I thought I may have found my new favourite body lotion and got asked to spill the beans but I was planning to keep 'schtum' until my upcoming empties video, however, I just can't contain my excitement over this product! It's incredibly moisturising, sinking into the skin almost instantly. There's no doubt that the Eve Lom Cleanser is bloody expensive but it's apparently well worth the money, plus it is recommended to use with the clarisonic and I'm constantly on the hunt for the next best thing to work in conjunction with my Mia so I have high hopes for this one!

Have you tried any of these products? What's currently on your wishlist?

A Few (Too Many) New Additions!

The photo is a little misleading and is only really a sneak peek, click on the video above to see the real damage that's been done! Seriously, this needs to be it now for a little while (ahem, don't quote me on that!). However, I've managed to build up quite a few points both on my Debenhams Beauty Club Card and my Boots Card, so I may have to take advantage of those when I feel the need for some retail therapy! I'm thinking a Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector or one of their Face Treatment Oils, my skin hasn't seemed it's usual self recently and is in need of a little TLC, have you tried any of these?

I hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed 'hauling' everything! ;-)

May Favourites

Slightly delayed with my favourites this month, what with work and the Jubilee celebrations I haven't really had the time to film, or whenever I have had a chance the weather has just been so awful, one downside to relying on natural lighting. I feel that whatever I do with the little artificial lighting I have got, I still look like I'm in the pitch black and all that's visible is my teeth when I talk (kinda like that episode of Friends when Ross gets his teeth whitened, anyone know what I'm talking about?!). The majority of these products are new to me (I know I've promised a beauty haul, it is on it's way!) and I've just really enjoyed using them over the past 4 weeks or so!

What products have done it for you this month?
