New Year, New Hair!

I tend to have a bit of a love/hate relationship with my hair. I always get complimented on it's natural colour and how silky smooth it is, however, when it comes to styling it is extremely difficult and never seems to do as it's asked. I've been through plenty of bottles of styling products and used various hair appliances in order to change my look up a little, but nothing ever really worked for me. I discovered the Babyliss Waving Wand a few months ago and decided to give it a try after hearing so many great things about its simplicity and end results, and I must say, I haven't been fooled. I've always found curling my hair to be a bit of a faff, I could never get the gist of it, I guess I can say I'm just more of a makeup kind of girl! But the Babyliss Waving Wand really is a pleasure to use, it gives me the exact look I've always aimed to achieve and the results even last into the next day.

After receiving a few requests asking if I could film a tutorial on how I create the loose, bouncy waves, I felt more than confident in doing so and eventually got round to uploading the video (click HERE to see!)

It was only then when I was editing and watching the video back, couldn't help but think how god damn awful the remainders of my ombre-d tips looked. A whole 4 months growth later and it looked as if I have just dipped the ends of my hair into some household bleach. I was umming and arring as to whether to upload the video and in the end I did, purely because I wanted longish hair to be able to do this particular tutorial with and so the next morning I woke up and thought, it's got to go. I managed to get a last minute appointment at my local hairdressers and had it all cut off (the bleached ends I mean!) and I couldn't feel more happier now that it's gone!

It's definitely a good 3-4 inches shorter, a bit of a shock when you've had long hair for a while I tell you! But I really like it, I felt the need for a change and everybody always says I suit shorter hair. I also had some more longer layers cut in and feathering around the face, I find it gives my hair much more body and definition.

Are you aiming to make any drastic hair changes this year? :-)

  1. Ahh personally I loved the longer hair and the ombred look but it always feels amazing to chop off your hair and feel all fresh again! Still looks great :-)

    1. Thank you! I know that's the trouble, although mine grows pretty fast it's not always a good thing as I spend more money on getting it trimmed/cut!! x

    1. Thank you :-) It didn't look as bad when it was curled but when it was straight it looked worse the more it grew out, it needed to go! x
