top 3 bronzers & giveaway!

No girls makeup bag is complete with out some kind of bronzer! I thought I'd share with you my top 3 favourite bronzing products that I use all year round to give my skin that gorgeous,
sun kissed glow!

Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronze Universel
First off, the packaging for this product is stunning! This bronzer does it for me, it is of a cream consistency which is extremely easy to apply, has the slightest shimmer and smells very fruity! I would recommend this bronzer for any skin tone, however, if you are very pale, it does need to be applied with a light hand as too much can look a little orange! This can also be used as a base colour underneath your foundation or even over the top, to give your skin a bit more colour overall, which is perfect for the Summer months!
This is more of a treat at a pricey £31, however, this large 30g pot lasts a long time!

Nars Laguna Bronzer
Good old trusty Nars Laguna! This is a must for your collection if you don't have it already. Again, applying very easily and extremely wearable, this powder bronzer is a very light shade, but build-able if you require heavier colour . With gorgeous gold flecks running through it, it is sure to give you that healthy, bronzed look! Best worn on areas where the sun would naturally hit, such as temples, cheek bones and jawline.
Another bank breaker at £29, but a little goes a long way and I promise you will not be disappointed!

MAC Powder Blush - Blunt
Unfortunately now discontinued, but possibly available on certain sites, this matte bronzing powder is perfect for contouring. I apply this just underneath my cheekbones to make them look defined and sculpted, and as it contains no shimmer at all, it gives much more of a natural look. One other highly raved about matte bronzer would be Benefit's Hoola bronzer, available for a more affordable £23.50.

L-R Chanel, Nars, MAC

Now for the bit you've all been waiting for and I decided this giveaway prize would fit in perfectly with this post! I will be giving away the Bourjous Chocolate Bronzing powder, a product I haven't personally tried but is highly reviewed and recommended by many beauty guru's! I swatched it before purchasing and can say it is very light in colour, with pretty flecks of gold, and an added bonus, it smells like chocolate! The perfect product for any chocoholics out there, you will be smelling as sweet as you look!

This giveaway is now closed!

Summer Holiday Beach Essentials

Schwarzkopf Sun Protection Spray
This leave-in, water resistant sun protection hair spray provides added moisture and shields against damaging UV sun rays. We make sure our bodies and faces are protected when exposed to the heat, but often forget how harmful it can be towards our hair as well. I like to use this on wet hair and then leave it to try naturally. The fresh scent of orange fruit is perfect for the Summer months!

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer
With aloe vera, cucumber and vitamin E, this light, refreshing face mist revitalises and soothes the skin, a must have in those warmer climates. A great miniature to pop into your beach bag!

Reimann P20 Sun Protection Lotion
Being very fair, I tend to burn extremely easily in the sun. Even with a complete application of my usual SPF 50, my skin will still blister and turn blotchy and red. Even with only an SPF of 20, this manages to prevent me from burning! It can be applied just once and will last for up to 10 hours allowing gradual tanning, even if you are in and out of the water!

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Sun Defense for Face SPF 50
I remember once reading an article stating 'We don't use body lotion as a facial moisturiser, so why use a sun cream on our face?' and it couldn't be more true! Sun products designed especially for the face contain different ingredients to those made for the body. This beautiful herbal scented cream provides high protection against the Summer heat.

The Body Shop Coconut Shimmering Body Butter
One of my favourite scents! This thick, rich cream replaces moisture which is lost from exposure to the sun, leaves your skin smelling amazing and with a touch of subtle shimmer. I love to use this when going out for the evening, it really compliments a lovely tan!

I.d Bare Esscentuals Mineral Foundation
A light application without feeling cakey or heavy, but still gives a flawless coverage and leaves your skin with healhty looking glow. With a bonus of SPF 15, this is a definite Summer essential of mine!

Carmex Cherry Lip Balm SPF 15
This seriously moisturises lips like no other! With a fresh cherry scent and gentle tingling sensation when applied, this balm soothes, relieves, nourishes and also protects with added SPF.

Blinc Mascara
A little miracle in a tube! This innovative mascara will not smudge, flake, clump or run yet still gives amazing volume and length. Available in 6 different shades, you can't go wrong!

Minx Nail Wraps
An alternative to nail polish, however this is impossible to chip or smudge resulting in no repaints or touch-ups! Lasting up to 2 weeks on the nails and available in a huge range of designs and colours, these easy to apply, waterproof nail wraps are the latest must have fashion accessory!

Let me know your Summer beauty necessities!

A pricey replacement..

One of my favourite lip glosses in my collection is a very old, Glimmer Gloss from The Body Shop, which I purchased many years ago! It is now on it's last legs, I have the tiniest amount remaining but I am refraining from using it up because it was later discontinued!

I was on the hunt for a long time, trying to find an exact match but ended up choosing a shade very different. I always make an excuse to buy something from duty free at the airport and whilst wondering around, I came across the YSL counter, where I discovered the next best thing to replace my ancient and much loved lipgloss.

L-R YSL Touche Brilliance 5, The Body Shop Glimmer Gloss

The YSL version is a definite coral shade, but still has the gorgeous sheen to it, although it is a lot more costly at £24.50 a pop (I paid slightly less in duty free). However, the quality is amazing and the packaging is very similar in that it is in a 'pen' form, where you pump one end to release product on the brush at the other. It is very durable and it also smells really fruity, I hate those lip glosses with an awful plastic-like scent, yuk!

All in all, I'm very happy with my new find, even if it is a little more expensive, I just hope YSL don't discontinue their's any time soon!
